Privacy Policy

The extension opens only files you explicitly choose. A selected file may contain personally identifiable information, health information, financial or payment information, authentication information, personal communications, or other text, images, audio, video and links. File Viewer processes that content only on your device to render the file you requested. Document contents and filenames are not uploaded to Flyfish, Google, Stripe, analytics providers or any other server.
For performance, supported renderers may keep bounded local IndexedDB caches, including extracted archive entries and their filenames and rendered legacy PowerPoint slide images. These caches can remain after the tab is closed and stay only on the device until older entries are evicted, extension data is cleared, or the extension is uninstalled. Cache access timestamps are used only to enforce these storage limits and eviction.
Separately, the extension stores the 7-day trial start time, last-use time and, after purchase, an optional signed activation code in Chrome local extension storage. These trial timestamps are used only to provide the trial. The activation code contains the product identifier, Stripe checkout reference, license plan and issue time. It contains no card details or document content. The extension has no analytics or advertising identifiers.
File Viewer does not request host permissions, inject content scripts, or access browsing history, webpages you visit, cookies, contacts or location. The “website content” disclosure in the Chrome Web Store refers to content inside a file you explicitly select; it does not mean that the extension reads content from websites you browse.
If you choose to buy a license, you leave the extension and visit the Flyfish purchase page. Stripe processes your email, payment details and transaction records under Stripe’s own privacy terms. The Flyfish purchase service uses Stripe checkout session data only to confirm the payment and issue the signed activation code. The extension never receives payment card details.
The purchase website stores a secure, HttpOnly, first-party cookie containing your Stripe checkout reference for up to one year. It lets you resume checkout or recover your activation code in the same browser, and helps prevent repeat purchases. This cookie is not an advertising identifier and is not accessible to the extension. You can remove it by clearing this website’s cookies; keep a copy of your activation code first. A fulfillment flag and the checkout creation time are stored with the existing Stripe transaction metadata to make payment callbacks safe to retry. No document content is included.
File Viewer’s handling of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. File Viewer does not sell user data, transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose, use it for personalized advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
You can remove locally stored trial, activation and cached data by uninstalling the extension or clearing its extension data. To request support, privacy information, or deletion of purchase records where legally available, contact admin@flyfish.dev. Do not send private documents unless support explicitly requests a safe, redacted sample.
